About eDreams

eDreams is an online travel agency parented by eDreams ODIGEO. Its website operates by comparing, filtering, and reselling the best travel deals on the internet. The company is particularly well-known for its low-cost travel services.

Their site offers holidays in 33 countries and territories around the world, including Australia, Brazil, Egypt, Russia, Spain, Singapore, and Thailand. It also provides a number of separate travel services, including car rental, flights, hotels, package holidays, and travel insurance. The current CEO of the company is Dana Dunne.

It was founded in 2000 in Silicon Valley, supported by Apax Partners, Atlas Venture, DCM-Doll Capital Management, and 3i Group. Not long after launching, the company launched its headquarters in Barcelona, Spain.

In the following years, it built its place in the Italian and Spanish travel markets. In fact, it was reportedly the first travel agency to offer its services online in Spain. In 2012, the company launched its iOS and Android App, and in 2013, eDream’s parent company bought the travel search engine Liligo.

Today, the company collaborates with over 400 airlines, providing approximately 155,000 travel routes. It also offers over 1 million hotels in 40,000 destinations. In the financial year of 2015, the company received 10.7 million online bookings and grossed approximately $4.5 billion. It has also received a number of awards, including Best Online Travel Partner in 2015 from CFI and Best International Website 2013 from eAwards.
